4-H Green Gardens

We are proud to announce the creation of our new educational gardens at the CCE office.  These
educational gardens will be used to teach youth and their families lessons about food production and the nutritional benefits of local, whole foods, while simultaneously promoting and encouraging food sustainability and security. Each participant will be able to share in any harvested produce, and extra food will be offered on a share basis with limited income families and local food pantries.

The start to the educational gardens has been made possible by the generous Holiday Matching Grant from Stewart’s. Further donations from organizations or individuals are being sought for materials and equipment necessary for the successful running of the garden, including a tractor with a 3-point hitch, ROPS system, and PTO. All donors will be recognized in Association publications, including the Warren County Connection, Progressive Youth, and Program Update. Donors will be acknowledged through media outlets such as local newspapers and through social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Contributors of $150 or more will be included on a plaque that will be posted in the garden, and for those who donate $1,000 or more will have sections of the gardens named after them. Tax deductible donations can be sent to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren County 377 Schroon River Road, Warrensburg, NY 12885 or visit our GoFundMe account at  https://www.gofundme.com/23kj2tg
