4-H Archery Programs

Intermediate Archery Program
Date:  Sunday, January 7th 
Time:  1:00pm - 3:30pm 
Location:  Dunham’s Bay Fish & Game Club.  

Must be at least 8 years old and completed Basic Archery. Move beyond the basics of recurve shooting with compound bows. Once established, students will be allowed to select either a recurve or compound and work toward improving their grouping at several distances.   Fee $5. 


Advanced Archery Program
Date:  Sunday, January 7th   
Time:  3:30-5:00pm 
Location:  Dunham’s Bay Fish & Game Club

Must be at least 8 years old and completed Basic and Intermediate Archery. Crossbow usage and the use of sights.  Fee $5.

4-H Reward Cards Now Available at JoAnn Fabric!


JOANN Fabrics and National 4-H Council are partnering to bring more hands-on 4-H programs to youth in local communities across the nation. Just in time for holiday crafting and gift-giving, the 4-H community and JOANN customers can save money while "shopping with purpose" with the free 4-H Reward Card.  The new 4-H Reward Card gives JOANN shoppers 15% off their total in-store and online purchases every day, and gives a minimum of 2.5% of every eligible transactions as a donation to 4-H.


Also, JOANN will have a Paper Clover campaign in February where proceeds will go to National 4-H Council and to NYS 4-H Foundation.  Plus customers who purchase a $4 Paper Clover will receive a coupon for $4 off their next purchase.  There is also a $1 dollar edition of the Paper Clover.

4-H Re-Enrollment Information


4-H Families, Volunteers, and Supporters,

The new 4-H year is almost upon us.  Re-enrollment begins at the beginning of September. 

ENROLLMENT FORMS AND PAYMENTS ARE DUE NOVEMBER 30th FOR YOUTH TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY TRIPS, SCHOLARSHIPS, OR CLUB CREDITS. As an added incentive, for new members or those who re-enroll before November 30th, the membership will be the same as the 2016-2017 rates:   Single Youth Membership $10; Family of Two or More Youth $15; and Inclusive Membership (which includes FREE admission to all programs with a program fee of $5 or less) $30.  

Those re-enrolling AFTER November 30th, the fee will be $20 for a single youth, $30 for a family, and $60 for inclusive programming with $5 admission or less. 

There are no fees for volunteers at this time. Warren County is still one of the most affordable programs in the state.  

We are all looking forward to another exciting year of 4-H! 


4-H/CCE OFFICE CLOSED DATES


VETERANS DAY - OFFICE CLOSED

The 4-H/CCE Office will be closed on Friday, November 10th to observe Veterans Day.  We will return to the office on Monday, November 13th to answer your calls.






THANKSGIVING - OFFICE CLOSED


The 4-H/CCE Office will be closed on Thursday, November 23rd and Friday, November 24th to observe Thanksgiving.  We will return to the office on Monday, November 27th to answer your calls.




4-H Wilderness Exploration Program

43rd Annual 4-H Wilderness Exploration Program
for 12—15 year olds

Date: July 11—13, 2017
Location: Ausable Campground, Clinton County
Cost:  $55.00


TRIP IS LIMITED TO 15 YOUTH PARTICIPANTS! 

ALL participants MUST be enrolled 4-H’ers to attend this trip.

FISHERIES MANAGEMENT TOUR

Date:  Wednesday, April 19th
Time:  9:00am—11:00am
Location:  Warren County Fish Hatchery


Join us as we tour the Warrensburg NYSDEC Fish Hatchery to learn about the common fish species of the Adirondacks and how the hatchery works to keep our waterways stocked. 

This program is free and open to all 4-Hers.

Please contact the CCE office to register for this program by April 5th .

** Please dress warmly as part of the tour will be outside.
** Transportation is available for those wishing to join us for Sport Fishing Jeopardy and/or SOUPer-Spring Lunch at the CCE office afterwards. 

SPORT FISHING JEOPARDY


Answer:  Fun, educational, and the perfect follow-up to a fish hatchery tour.  
Question:  What is Sport Fishing Jeopardy?

AXE & KNIFE SAFETY CLASS

Location:  Dunham’s Bay Fish & Game Club

Pre-registration is required.

Are you a member of the 4-H Adirondack Guides who would also like to be able to use knives or axes on our camping trips? Are you a 4-H member who would like to learn how to use axes or knives more safely?

Come join us for this all-day, hands-on learning event that will incorporate both classroom-based learning and practical knowledge.

4-H CAREER EXPLORATION


CALLING ALL GARDEN-LOVING 4-H'ERS



Are you a registered 4-H member who loves to garden?

This summer, we are looking for interested 4-H’ers who would be willing to help in our garden in exchange for a share of the garden’s produce. This opportunity would also provide community service hours, as a portion of the produce from the garden will be donated to local food pantries.

YARD SALE ITEMS BEING SOUGHT



We will be accepting donations of gently used household and garden items for our 2nd Annual 4-H Yard Sale.   

You can deliver your treasures Mon-Fri from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.  (Because the items will be stored in our shed, any temperature sensitive items should be held onto until spring.)

We are grateful for any donation but will not be accepting large upholstered furniture,
mattresses, clothing, large electronics or computers.

BASIC & INTERMEDIATE AIR PISTOL PROGRAM

A BASIC AIR PISTOL Program is being held on Sunday, March 19th from 9AM - 11AM @ the Dunham’s Bay Fish & Game Club in Queensbury.  Followed by an INTERMEDIATE AIR PISTOL Program from 1-5pm.
