WHEP: Birdfeeder Bird Identification Program


WHEP: Birdfeeder Bird Identification Program is being held on Monday, December 10th from 6PM-7PM @ the CCE office in Warrensburg.
Come learn about the common birds that come to local feeders. Each participant will make a peanut butter pine cone feeder. Cloverbuds welcome! Come prepared to get dirty. No Fee.

Want to help the 4-H Program this Holiday Season? After your holiday gatherings have ended, stop by the Direct Deposit Bottle Redemption Center in Warrensburg and donate your returnables to the Warren County 4-H Program. Our 4-H'ers thank you!

Plant Sale & Garden Workshops


Plant Sale & Garden Workshop
Date:  Saturday, Sept. 22nd
Time:  9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location:  CCE Office

9-10AM:  Outdoor Cooking:  Join us in making simple, healthy foods, and learn about the nutritional benefits they hold.

10AM—11AM:  Invasive Species: Burning Bush, Barberry, and Black Locust, OH MY! A discussion about common invasive plant species and how they affect our natural environment. Discover which natives can be used to combat the invasive species epidemic.

11AM—12PM: Blooming Bouquets: Learn about aesthetic floral displays and show off your skills in our interactive flower arranging activity.

1PM—2PM:  The Art of Landscape Design:  Learn how to organize, construct and beautify your outdoor spaces using flattering colors and combinations.


2PM—3PM:  No-till, No Trouble:  Does your soil need a facelift?  Rejuvenate your garden and preserve your soil by using no-till and cover cropping practices. Let us show you how!

Activities comprise of: “Ask the Expert” Master Gardener booth, pH testing, 4-H Booth, youth fun zone - participate in fun games, including: ski ball, corn hole, ring toss, sack races, backyard bass and more, hay rides and a hay maze. 

A garden basket drawing will be held at end of the day.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES



PENNIES FOR PINK FUNDRAISER

Date:  Saturday, September 29th

Location:  Queensbury Walmart, 
Quaker Ridge Blvd.
4-H member Jack Sweet and his mother Cathy Sweet are organizing a fundraiser to raise money for the purchase of gas cards for local cancer patients to use to get them back and forth to treatments.

TRACTOR SUPPLY PAPER CLOVER FUNDRAISER

Date:  October 3rd—14th, 2018

Time:  10am—2:00pm

Tractor Supply Company in Queensbury is looking for 4-H’ers to donate some time during their Annual Paper Clover Fundraiser.  Volunteers will help bag costumers’ purchases at the check out line and greet costumers at the store entrance.  You will need to have an adult (parent/caregiver/club leader) supervise you while at the store.  Interested in helping out for an hour or more on one of these days?

4-H Achievement Recognition Event


BASIC ARCHERY PROGRAM


Date:  Sunday, November 4th
Time:  1:00pm - 5:00pm
Location:  Dunham's Bay Fish & Game Club
Fee:  $5.00 per person

This program will cover the basics of archery safety, stance, anchor point, and range rules.  Open to any Warren County 4-H member ages 8-19. Registration is required and can be done by calling the CCE office at 518-668-4881/623-3291 or e-mailing:  mlb222@cornell.edu
