Food Preservation Workshop Series

The summer growing season is almost here, a perfect time to learn the basics of food preservation! Join us for three hands-on food preservation workshops, where we will learn how to use different food preservation methods to make several food items and gain valuable food preservation skills. Each participant will learn how to make jam and jelly (Tuesday), pickles and dilly beans (Wednesday), and canned tomatoes and salsa (Thursday). Additionally, food safety techniques and the processes of dehydrating, freezing, hot water bath canning, and pressure canning will be covered.

Pre-registration and pre-payment are required.  Each workshop will be open to youth registrants if accompanied by a parent or grandparent.

The workshops will be held on June 28, 29, and 30, from 12:30 – 4 PM, at Cornell Cooperative Extension 377 Schroon River Road in Warrensburg, NY. There will be a fee of $10 for each workshop.

To sign up for any of the workshops, please contact Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren County at 518-623-3291 or e-mail warren@cornell.edu
