4-H SPRING BREAK PROGRAMS

Focus on Photography

When:  Tuesday, April 26th
Time: 1-4pm 
Where:  CCE Education Center


Learn some skills of great photography including composition and focal point and try out your new skills in the field.  We’ll also explore what 4-H Fair judges look for when they judge a photograph and tips on how to make your photograph and presentation a blue ribbon entry.

This class is open to 4-Hers 11 years and older. Youth must bring their own digital camera, cell phone with camera or ipad and have a basic knowledge of how to use the device to take photos.

 Hunter Education Class

When:  Tuesday, April 26th
Time: 9:00am-4:30pm
Where:  Dunham’s Bay Fish & Game Club
Space is limited to 25 seats!


This class is free and open to the public (ages 11.5 years of age and up). The course is "Home Study," materials MUST be picked up at the CCE Education Center Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, BEFORE April 12th.


Homestudy workbook must be COMPLETED to gain entry to class.  NO EXCEPTIONS.   Bring a lunch with you.

Fisheries Management Tour

When:  Wednesday, April 27th
Time:  9am—12pm
Where:  Warren County Fish Hatchery

Join us as we tour the Warrensburg NYSDEC Fish Hatchery to learn about the common fish species of the Adirondacks and how the hatchery works to keep our waterways stocked. 

This program is free and open to all 4-Hers.

Please contact the CCE office to register for this program by April 11th .
** Please dress warmly as part of the tour will be outside.  Families are welcome to bring a lunch-picnic tables are available. 

** Transportation is available for those wishing to join us for Sport Fishing Jeopardy afterwards. 



Sport Fishing Jeopardy

Answer:  Fun, Educational,and the perfect follow-up to a fish hatchery tour.
Question:  What is Sport Fishing?   

When:  Wednesday, April 27th
Time:  1pm—2:30pm
Where:  CCE Education Center

Sport Fishing Jeopardy is the perfect follow up to the fisheries tour.  Come have fun, test your knowledge and maybe even learn something.  Fun prizes will be given to the winning team.

"Where Does My Food Come From?" 


When:  Thursday, April 28th

Time:  11:00pm—12:30pm
Where:  CCE Education Center

Come learn about the differences between organic, heirloom, GMO, and local foods – and then assist with cooking and taste-testing recipes made with those different food sources – as well as start some seedlings which will be able to be brought home after the program’s completion.
